Time to Pile On Pelosi

Posted in Obamacare, Pelosi, Washington on January 31, 2014 by desertdweller

Ed Morrissey posts a juicy piece at HotAir exposing a level of Pelosi’s incompetence that can only be call incompetent incompetence.

“I don’t know.”

“It’s not my responsibility.”

“Things will be better.”

“There is no excuse.”

“I don’t think there’s corruption.”

“Do something about it.” [uh-huh, that’s John Stewart’s job?]

“I don’t know that.”

98% of Catholic Women Using Contraceptives if They Want to Use Contraceptives…

Posted in Doublespeak, Health Care, Nanny State, Obamacare, Pelosi on February 27, 2012 by desertdweller

Nancy Pelosi is using this gem of a statistic recently.

Nancy Pelosi – 98% Contraceptive Use

But look into the numbers.  Stu Burguiere rips this apart: (read the whole thing, it’s short)

The study asked a bunch of Catholic women who are both 1) regularly having sex and 2) trying not to get pregnant, whether they’re using contraception.  How did you not get 100% on that question?  I mean—what are your other options in that situation?  Specifically searching out people who are medically sterile?  Buying the Cialis mailing list and trying to find guys with ED?  Punching dudes in the groin before you hook up?

Insurance thought for the day

Posted in Obamacare on February 2, 2011 by desertdweller

If you want the privilege of a driver’s license, the vehicle you’re driving must be insured.   It’s mandated.  What makes the Obama administration think mandated health insurance will achieve any better than the 85% subscription rate achieved by motorists?

Obamacare is a crock.  Repeal.

The Middle Class Doesn’t Exist

Posted in Doublespeak, Obama's Lips, Obamacare, Socialism on September 15, 2009 by desertdweller

Dear Leader said to a group of adoring followers today:

And the fundamental test of our time is whether we will heed this lesson; whether we will let America become a nation of the very rich and the very poor, of the haves and the have-nots; or whether we will remain true to the promise of this country and build a future where the success of all of us is built on the success of each of us.

Sounds like that classical socialist mantra “from each according to his ability, to each according to need,” yet this quote was stated blatantly and unabashedly by President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

There should be little doubt left over the political stripes of Dear Leader Obama.

The middle class has been denigrated by the Obama administration, and today’s statements fail to acknowledge the middle class exists – “haves and have-nots?”  The majority fit in the comfortable middle.  There were probably half a million people at the D.C. Tea Party and tens of thousands more at local Tea Parties around the country on 9/12/09.   Is Barack Hussein Obama really this ignorant?

Bureaucratic Health Care Following the Porkulus Process?

Posted in Economy, Nanny State, Obamacare, Transparency on June 13, 2009 by desertdweller

They will put a Washington Bureuacrat standing between you and your doctor.

There is nothing about a health care bill that is “urgent” and cannot follow due process, yet Senator Pat Roberts claims, “. . . please let us know what the bill is before you give us a deadline to offer amendements.”

Obama’s Socialized Health Care Plan Announced – How’s Socialized Health Care Working In Our Prisons?

It’s getting so most “meaningful” political announcements arrive late Friday in the dead news cycle.  Obama’s health care plan is available (h/t HotAir).  This will take some time to digest, but let’s start at the beginning:

Do you think the wording could be any “squishier” and non-committal?   A right to an “effective doctor-patient relationship“?   What in creation does that mean?   And doesn’t the patient have some responsibility to judge what’s best for  themselves?  Why are patients left out of  2(c)?

And for a taste of government run health care in the USA, read up on the state of health care in our prisons.   The number of lawsuits mentioned here has me wondering what CYA provisions are included in Obamacare . . . time to start reading!
