The Bush Legacy
Last night, I read some childish opinion from some northeastern “journalist” who claimed the left should at least acknowledge GWB was right about the surge. He claimed Iraq was a huge mistake, as is typical for most such lemmings.
Does anyone comprehend how much uglier the world would be if Saddam were still in power?
Then it struck me.
Would the military and our CINC have ever admitted it if they actually found weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq?
I suspect not. At least not for tactical reasons at first. The conditions surrounding a WMD find would be tenuous — especially since the factions hiding WMD would know the coalition found them. Disposal would be even more of a problem.
GW Bush is just the sort of President who would take this secret with him, even as he knew it would be political suicide.
