Will the US be safe from terrorism for the next 4 years?
Undoubtedly, the lack of terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11/01 can be credited to the dedication of the Bush administration to the “Global War on Terror.” I don’t like that term but the label sticks. Erick Erickson’s makes this quite clear in his post, Lunch with Vice President Cheney. Part I.
What should we expect then of the next 4 years under Barack H. Obama?
Al Qaeda made no bones over their intent to destroy America economically. With the US economy in recession, will the Islamists — not necessarily Al Qaeda, cause they’re weakened by the last few years — again attempt a strike on US soil? Or are they also drinking the BHO branded Hopey-Changey Kool-Aid?
A strike in the US will likely backfire on them, as American Resolve kicks in despite the response of a likely wimpy Washington.
If they like the sweetened drink approach, Islamist will sit tight an Hope that President Changey will lead America closer to accepting Sharia.
I’m guessing the latter.
